‘Regardless of how small in majority, our community members constitute the most ancient group of indigenous people. However, we are still regarded as a background community,’ Mr. Chet Bahadur Kumal said. The community building of Kumal Community in Jalkini Dada, Bhuwankuna stands as tall as the unwavering dedication of the community members.

Mr. Dilliram Kumal initiated the construction of the building, who always cared for changing socio- economic status of the community members encountered a premature death in a motorbike accident. The aftermath made the community colorless and its members run-of-the mill. We did not open the community building for a long-time, no members dared to visit the community building. We lost our parent,’ Mr. Chet Bahadur said in low tones.

The large number of community members are engaged in subsistence agriculture. A community museum that portrays the customs, culture, and tradition of the community is under construction in the same community building. Mr. Dilliram Kumal invented the idea, who always wished his members to celebrate their traditional practices regardless of ethnicity and know their folklore. They have plan to open the museum for general public and create a space for sustainable livelihood. ‘He always believed that our actions and deeds must reflect inner qualities and righteousness of the Kumal community and its members. He always feared god, was honest and humble,’ Mr. Chet Bahadur Kumal nodded.

Mr. Dilliram Kumal always encouraged members to love their neighbors, care for the ill-fated, and promote moral values in the community. The community has difficulty in excelling to its denominational boundaries, but still struggles to reflect a shared commitment to its community and the pursuit of its righteous future even in the absence of Mr. Dilliram Kumal.
